THREADLOCKING THREADLOCKING BLIND HOLES (STUDS, ETC.) PRE-ASSEMBLED FASTENERS LIQUID ONLY LIQUID ONLY Onto Threads TM TM 220 or 290 Here 2440TM Into Hole 262TM Not Here 1. Clean all threads (bolt and hole) with Loctite� ODC-Free Cleaner & Degreaser. 1. Clean bolts and nuts with Loctite� ODC-Free Cleaner & Degreaser. 2. If necessary, spray all threads with Loctite� 7649TM Primer NTM. Allow to dry. 2. Assemble components. 3. Squirt several drops of Loctite� 2670TM Threadlocker down the sides of the female threads. 3. Tighten nuts. Note: Use Loctite� 277TM Threadlocker if stud is over 1" diameter. 4. Apply several drops of Loctite� 220TM or 290TM Threadlocker at the nut and bolt juncture. 4. Apply several drops of Loctite� 2670TM Threadlocker onto stud threads. 5. Avoid touching bottle tip to metal. 5. Install studs. Note: For preventive maintenance on existing equipment: 6. Position cover, head, etc. RETIGHTEN nuts and apply Loctite� 220TM or 290TM 7. Apply drops of Loctite� 2440TM Threadlocker onto exposed threads. Threadlocker at the nut and bolt juncture. 8. Tighten nuts as required. ADJUSTMENT SCREWS � Apply Here LOCTITE BRAND THREADLOCKER QUICK SELECTOR Use Strength Product Color Small Screws Low 222MSTM Purple Nuts & Bolts Medium 2440TM /QuickStixTM 248TM Blue Pre-Assembled Medium 290TM Green Plunger Pre-Assembled Low 220TM Blue Nuts & Bolts High 2670TM / QuickStixTM 268TM Red TM 1. Adjust screw to proper setting. Studs (up to 1") High 2760 Red 2. Apply several drops of Loctite� 220TM or 290TM Threadlocker at screw Studs (over 1") High 277TM Red and body juncture. 3. Avoid touching bottle tip to metal. Note: � If re-adjustment is difficult, apply heat to screw with soldering gun (450�F). � Loctite� 220TM Threadlocker is a weaker version of Loctite� 6 290TM Threadlocker. 7
