Do not disconnect steam couplings while under pressure Maximum operating temperature for steam
service couplings is 194C (3 2F), with an intermittent maximum temperature of 204C (400F). Be
sure to use safety chains, or equivalent means, to prevent the line from thrashing around in a case
where the coupling becomes disconnected.
