CLUTCH TUNING ISSUES WHICH CAN LEAD TO
PERFORMANCE LOSS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING
Premature Belt Failure:
Drive is not aligned properly
Pulleys need to be cleaned or replaced
Pulleys are not adjusted correctly for the belt
Slow Acceleration:
Secondary pulley gearing is not completed
Belt width has been reduced by wear
Sides of the belt are excessively worn
Pulleys and/or center length need to be readjusted to match the belt
Pulleys need to be cleaned or replaced
Excessive Vibration:
Pulleys need to be re-tightened or re-set on shafts
Pulley components should be checked for wear
Belt may have acquired spotted burns on the sidewall
Engine RPM is too high through hard acceleration:
Pulleys and/or center length need to be readjusted to match the belt
Belt is too narrow
Pulleys need to be cleaned or replaced
Clutch engages too late, too soon, or in a sporadic manner:
Pulleys and/or center length need to be readjusted to match the belt
Belt is too narrow
Pulleys need to be cleaned or replaced
Incorrect Downshifting:
Secondary/Belt Pulley is not tuned correctly
Pulleys need to be cleaned or replaced
