Square Braided Non-asbestos
Graphited Packing
Square braided construction. Non-asbestos fibers treated with a specially
formulated blend of lubricants having a saxoline base. Each strand is individually
coated with graphite and the braid is surface coated with graphite.
Recommended for general service on rotary and reciprocating equipment. For
mild acids, alkalines, steam, brine, oil. Speeds to 1885 FPM; temperatures to
450°F/232°C; pH range 4-10. A good general service packing. The lubrication
formulation makes the extra difference. The ductile nature of the lubricant
prevents wicking and provides superior sealability. Packaged in 10 lb. boxes
which cannot be broken. (See Style 1189-1 packed in 1 lb. boxes.)

Carbon Yarn over Plastic Core
Braided Inconel wire-inserted carbon yarn over a high temperature resistant
homogenous plastic core with special high temperature binder and graphite. A
corrosive inhibitor is added to protect the valve. Molycoated surface treatment.
Recommended for steam, superheated steam, air, petroleum products and hot
gases. For valve service; maximum line temperature 1200°F/649°C, pressures
to 2500 p.s.i. Packaged in 10 lb. boxes which may be broken for smaller orders.

Interbraid construction. A non-asbestos Aramid fiber; a synthetic fiber displaying
many of the characteristics of asbestos. Each strand is individually treated with a
TFE coating and a light, inert oil. Recommended for rotating and reciprocating
shafts and all equipment on which braided asbestos packings are used. For
general service, caustics, mild acids, chemicals, air, oil, gases, solvents and
general chemical plant applications. For speeds up to 1900 FMP; temperatures
to 500°F/260°C; pH Range 3-11 (same as TFE impregnated asbestos).
Packaged in 10 lb. boxes which may be broken for smaller orders.
