Roll Balance
Unique combination sets for the steel and
aluminum industries
Roll Balance is commonly found in mills where
molten metal slab is reduced to a gauged strip.
Roll Balance sets consist of a CHEVRON® set or a
GARTHANE® U-seal to act as the sealing component,
and a special diagonal cut ring to act as a piston bear-
ing and anti-extrusion ring for the CHEVRON® set or
U-seal.
As pressure is applied, the 155 diagonal cut ring
acts in opposite outward directions for positive sup-
port of the piston, while reducing the extrusion gap
behind the CHEVRON® set or GARTHANE® U-seal.
